WELLINGTON'S RAINFALL.

AN EXCEPTIONALLY DRY MONTH. - [by telegraph.—mi ess ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Thursday. The month just past was exceptionally dry in Wellington. Only 70 points of rain fell, as compared with 6.17 in in the same month last year, and 12.94 in 1904, the heaviest rainfall that has ever "occurred in the city in one month. It is interesting to note, however, that October, 1903, ivan even drier, only .67in of vain being precipitated, and the lowest fall of all on record (.42in) occurred in 1894. The rain that fell last night totalled a quarter of an inch, the heaviest during the month. /■ The average fall for October in previous years is 4iin.
