The jury yesterday found him guilty of manslaughter and he was sentenced to ten years' penal servitude. The victim of the tragedy, Mrs. Ray, niece of another Adelaide doctor, called upon Dr. Sheridan on August 31, and was attended to by him in his operating room. About a quarter of an hour yfter she had arrived the doctor left the house, with the remark to his wife that ho would be back in half-an-hour. Then the dead body of Mrs. Ray was found on the floor of the operating room. Sheridan disappeared and was not arrested until September 21. He had been staying at a hotel in the city. Last year Dr. Sheridan was tried for the murder of a girl named Winnie Goater by illegal operation and was acquitted. He is a fully qualified doctor, but not registered in South Australia. •
