SHOCKINGLY SUDDEN DEATH.

—«. •A sudden* death occurred near the hospital yesterday afternoon.: Captain John 'McLiver, of Avondale, and his wife, had been paying a visit to a friend, who is an invalid, at the institution, and were coming away , when Captain McLiver complained to his wife/who was walking with him, of feeling unwell. Captain McLiver was the son of the late Mr. Lachlau McLiver, and wan well- . knowu in the South Sea Island trade. He .retired from the sea some years ago, and since then has resided at Avondale. He > was 62 years of age. The deceased was a man of genial disposition, and his death . will be heard of with general regret.
