COUNCILLOR V. MAYOR.
ALLEGED ABUSIVE LANGUAGE. "NOT A PUBLIC PLACE." [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
Cambridge, Friday. At the Stipendiary Magistrate's Court today, before Mr. Northcroft, the decision was given in the case of M'r. Clark v. Mr. Buckland, the Mayor, for alleged abusive language, the decision having been reserved from last Court day. The magistrate said he had arrived at the conclusion that the language complained of was not used in a public place within the meaning of the Act, nor in hearing of passers-by. At the same time no one could countenance the language which was the subject of this action.
