TEN YEARS AND THREE FLOGGINGS.

Hokitika, Friday. At the Supreme Court to-day Mr. Justice Edwards sentenced R. Raymond, alias Lawson, a man who had pleaded guilty to attempted rape on a married woman in the street at West port, to 10 years' hard labour and three floggings, each of 20 lashes.
