DUNEDIN'S NEW GRAVING DOCK.
A DEADLOCK. [BY TELEGRAPH.—FRESS association.] DuxEiHN', Monday. The deadlock between Messrs. Luttrell and Scott, contractors for the new graving dock at Port Chalmers, and the Dock Trust continues. A conference took place this morning between the parties and their solicitors, but what occurred has not been allowed to transpire, and when the Dock Trust met this afternoon the matter was taken in committee. On resuming the following motion was adopted: " That as the contractors are not exercising due diligence, or making due progress "with the works to the satisfaction of the engineer, notice be given under clause 17 of the general conditions of contract, and that the Trust give such notice accordingly.'' The purport of the motion is that if the contractors do not resume /work at the new dock within seven days the Trust may take over the works and carry them on at the contractors' risk.
