A correspondent of tlio Wellington Evening Post, criticising Mr. J. 0. Harkncss* knowledge of the dairying industry, says Wellington is tho centre of the dairy industry, and backs up his statement by quoting from Mr. Kmsella's report to show that while the Wellington-Taranaki district has 492 butter factories, Auckland has only 119, Cbristcburch only 12, and Otago and 'Southland combined 106. Had he quoted Mr. Kinsella's report correctly (says the Taranaki Herald) he would have seen that Tarattaki has 380 and Wellington only 112 of the 492 factories he credits to the two district*. Thus Taranaki, nut Wellington, can claim to be the centre of the industry.
