W.UHr, Friday. A most interesting lecture was given by Mr. Max D. King last night in the Salvation Army Hall, the subject being Maori wars. During the evening a number of boys gave a haka. A Maori trio and a poi song were also given. The proceeds of the lecture arc to be devoted to the army self-denial fund.

The ladies connected with the Liberal and Labour Federation decided lust night that the whole of the proceeds of ithe next, social will be devoted to the Seddon memorial fund, and a strong committee was formed to make the function a great financial success.
