Ottawa, September 3. The Premier of Canada (Sir Wilfrid Laurier) will shortly reopen negotiations with Mr. Deakin for preferential trade relations between Canada and Australia.

RUMOURED GERMAN REPRISALS,
Melbourne, September 3.
There is a rumour that Germany intends to impose a duty of a penny a pound on Australian wool not taken to Germany in German ships, as, a reprisal for the high preferential duties to be conceded to Great Britain.
