Buyers of Waihis quoted £9 8s 6d (ex dividend), and sellors were at £9 10s 6d, no transactions. Waiotahis sold at 30s, and more were wanted at 29s 9d, sellers asking 30s 3d. Talismans changed hands at 26s 6d, and there was further inquiry at 26s 3d, sellers holding for 275. Waihi Extcndeds were done at 4s 9d, sellers closing at 4s lOd, with buyers at 4s 9d. GROCERS' MARKET QUOTATIONS. The following are the quotations for butter and eggs for the week ending September 8, as arranged by the Dairy Produce Committee, Factory butter, Is per lb; farmers' butter, 8d; separator butter, 3d. A shipment, of South Australian June is offering at 31s 3d. Australian spot is at nominal prices. New Zealand shortberried, 29s to 30s; longberried, 29s 6d to 30s 6d. Flour is dull. Australian. in London is quoted at 21s 6d to 225; Glasgow, 223 6d. METALS. Copper: Spot, £85 ss; three months, £85 10s. Tin: Spot, £183 10s; three mouths, £184. Iron, 545. SUGAR. Market quiet. German, 9s 4d. First marks, lis fid. WOOL. The Bradford wool market is very firm and prices unchanged. BUTTER. The butter market is very film and prices unchanged. Business in colonial is limited. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London house : —We quote present spot values for the following descriptions of tallow:—Fine mutton, 32a 6d ; good beef, 31s 6d; mixed, 30s per cwt. OH A UFO SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, report: — On Tuesday, August 28, nt Ohaupo, we yarded over 400 head of cattle. The 60 forward bullocks were required and sold at from £5 15s to £6 13s 6d. A large entry of young cattle sold freely. Good yearlings from Mr. J. B. Fisher nod Mr. James Scott realised from £2 Is to £2 13s 6d ; from other owners, £1 2s to £1 17s 6d ; strong, good calves, £1 8s to £1 14s; others, 19s to 235; empty two-year-old heifers, £2 Is to £2 15s; 18 months steers, £2 18s to £3.55; two and a-half year old steers, £4 10s; fresh empty cows, £2 15* to £4; fat cows, £5 2s 6d to £5 10s.
