Tnvkrcahgill, Tuesday. A meeting of the directors of the Caledonian Society passed a resolution protesting strongly against the Scottish Society in Christehurch organising Exhibition sports for January 1 and 2. days when almost all old-established societies hold their annual gathering. It .was resolved to urge kindred societies to co-operate in requesting a change of date so as to fit in with the New Zealand Athletic Union's gathering at the end of January.

Since the return of the Hon. R. McNab, Minister for Lands, from Christchurch, it has been decided by Cabinet to add a model dairy factory to the agricultural exhibits in the Exhibition. The public will ho able to see the complete process of butter manufacture, from milking- the cow to turning out -butter lit for export. All -varieties of .milking machines at present on the market .will - be. given fair tests. A poultry farm will bo run near the, Exhibition to. provide birds in various stages of development, and -incubators, will hatch chickens in view of .the public.
