London*. July 19. The Governor of Natal has informed the Under-Secretary (Mr. Winston Churchill) that approximately 3500 rebels have been killed and 2000 wounded or made prisoners in the engagements of the war.
TRANSVAAL'S HUT TAX.

Lord Selborne has decided that natives in the Transvaal who work three months in each year shall pay 20s hut tax instead of 40s, as formerly.
TRIAL OF REBEL CHIEFS.
PIETERMARITZBURG, July 18.
The Zulu chiefs Messini, Ndhlov'uk, and Antimuni have been convicted by court-martial of treason. Antimuni also has been found guilty of the murder of a European.
