In pursuance of the Midwifes' Registration Act. which enacts that after the Ist January. 1907, no woman shall practice as a midwife unless registered. Examinations will be held in the four centres in September and December next, to,enable those women to register who have not hitherto done so. Candidates for registration must be of good character, and have either been in bona fide practice as midwives for four years or over, or can produce a certificate showing that they have attended not leas than 20 cases of labour under the immediate supervision of a medical man, or a nurse holding a certificate in midwifery training. Forms of application for intending candidates can be bad from the Registrar of Nurses and Midwives. Hospitals Department, Government Buildings, Wellington,, and applications to sit for examination should be sent in the first week in August, or the first week in November. WM.
