London,;.- July 6. At Wimbledon to-day the doubles championship was won by S. H. Smith and F. L. Riseley, who beat, Doherty Brothers, the holders, by three sets to two!
In the mixed doubles A. F. Wild: ing and Miss D. K. Douglass beat. A W. Gore and Miss Thomson by two sets to one.
The brothers Doherty have bold th* championship since 1397, except in 1802, the year in which they in a tie their expedition to America to. capture the Davis Cup. In that year the present winners. Smith and Kiseley, won th*; doubles championship. ,
