Thi; Cabinet lias approved of the permanent appointment of Mr. T. Humphries as Sur-veyor-General. Other transfers and promotions will follow. Mr. Goldsmith, Commissioner of Crown Lands at Napier, succeeds Mr. Humphries at Christchurcli. Mr. H. Trent, Commissioner of Crown Lands at, Blenheim, is transferred to Napier. Mr. P. S. Smith, inspecting-sur-veyor in the Land Office at Gisborne, fills the vacancy at Blenheim.
