STEVENSON'S GRAVE

One of the principal places of interest, to the tourist who visits Apia, the capital of Samoa, is the grave of Robert Louis Stevenson. Unfortunately, in recent years the pathway leading up the mountain slope to the grave has been greatly neglected— ; o neglected that it was difficult for a stranger to follow the track through the forest without a guide. As a result of representations made to Dr. Sehultz, Acting-Governor of Samoa, the pathv up the mountain and the surroundiugs of" the grave have been tended. The little plateau where the rough tomb lies has been carefully weeded and cleared, and the long zig-zag path up the hill remade, .the forest being cleared for some distance 011 each side.
