Griffiths, who is severing his connection with the firm, was presented by Mr. Ivor Evans, ft manager,' on behalf of the staff, with a handsome travelling valise, gold sovereign 'j case, and silver-mounted walking-stick. Mr. Evans, in making the presentation, re- ; ferred to the high esteem in which Mr. Griffiths was held by the whole of the staff, and wished him every success in his new appointment. Mr. Griffiths is leaving to- ■ : morrow for Greymouth to take up a position v. 5 with Messrs. McLean and Son.
