The drink bill of New South Wales last year showed'an increase of £71,472, but, allowing for the increase of population, there was a decrease of 5d per head. Every man, woman, and child in the State is credited with the expenditure of £3 Is 3d for liquid refreshment during the year. THE HOLIDAY. Sydney, June 4. Today wais observed as a holiday throughout New South Wales. THE PLAGUE I'KRTTf, June 4. Another ca.se of plague has occurred in Fremantle. THE UNEMPLOYED AT CHURCH. Mki.bol'rnk, June 4, Two hundred and fifty unemployed, headed by Mr, Torn Maun, attended morning service at the Anglican Cathedral yesterday. Archbishop Clarke, in a sympathetic address, dealt with labour questions. His remarks were punctuated with numerous pertinent interjections „,tui exclamations of approval from the unemployed.
