By Telegraph.—Preea Association.— COLONIAL LIFE SOCIETY. (Received May 31, 1.5 a.m.) Melbourne, May 30. , The annual meeting of the Colonial Life Society was held! to-day. The report was adopted. It showed a substantial increase of new business, viz., £45,000 more than last year. The annual income exceeds £465,000, and the funds amount to more than £3,000,000. A.M.P. SOCIETY. Sydney, May 30. The retiring directors of the A.M.P. Society have been reelected by a large majority over the candidates opposing extension to London. BANK MANAGER ARRESTED. Melbourne, May 30. • Mr. Doe, manage, of the Murchison branch of the Commercial Bank, has been arrested on charges connected with alleged irregularities, involving £2200. GOVERNOR-GENERAL'S RESIDENCE. Melbourne, May 50.
