Walquist was retried on a charge of assault, and robbery, the previous jury having disagreed, and on being found guilty was sentenced to three years' imprisonment. Alfred Walker Pearson, for theft of money from a partner, received 12 months. Harry Walter Worlcy. who had pleaded guilty at Oamaru to embezzling £149 from his employer, was sentenced to 12 months. Mr. Justice Cooper declined to grant probation in the two last cases. In the divorce division, a decree nisi, to bo made absolute in 6ix months, was L granted in the case of Harold Herbert ' Eaton v. Annie Eaton, the husband to 1 have custody of the children in the meantime. , Wanganui, Wednesday. At the Supreme Court to-day Ropoama Pohe was found not guilty on a charge of sheep stealing.
