[BT TELEGRAPH.— press ASSOCIATION.] Dcn'Edin, Wednesday. The criminal sittings of the Supreme Court concluded to-day. Win. Walquist was retried on a charge of assault, and robbery, the previous jury having disagreed, and on being found guilty was sentenced to three years' imprisonment. Alfred Walker Pearson, for theft of money from a partner, received 12 months. Harry Walter Worlcy. who had pleaded guilty at Oamaru to embezzling £149 from his employer, was sentenced to 12 months. Mr. Justice Cooper declined to grant probation in the two last cases. In the divorce division, a decree nisi, to bo made absolute in 6ix months, was L granted in the case of Harold Herbert ' Eaton v. Annie Eaton, the husband to 1 have custody of the children in the meantime. , Wanganui, Wednesday. At the Supreme Court to-day Ropoama Pohe was found not guilty on a charge of sheep stealing. His 17-year-old son, who I was charged conjointly with him, was found guilty, and remanded till the morning. Invercargill, Wednesday. > At the Supreme Court two criminal > cases were on the list. Yen Ohoy was » convicted of wounding Chen Boy, another i Celestial,, at Waikaia, and sentenced to two years' imprisonment. Wm. A. Maley was found guilty of breaking into a draper's shop. The plunder was mostly coppers, and the disposal of them gave him ; away, he having given 108 halfpence in payment for goods in one shop. Joseph I Foogan charged jointly with Maiey, was > acquitted, there being no evidence against him. Maley got three years. ' -
