PTOMAINE POISONING.

[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Palmerston North, Wednesday. At the inquest to-day touching the death of C. Hosking, aged 66, the verdict was as follows:—"That Mr. Hosking died from heart failure, caused by exhaustion, from the effects of ptomaine poisoning, through having eaten tongue prepared by & North Island bacon company • The presence of the poison in the meat seems, from tho evidence, to be purely unaccountable, and no blame is attachable to anyone. Mr. Gilruth and several members of the veterinary staff gave evidence.
