TROUBLE ON THE SHIP CASSIUS.

[BY TKLKGBAPH.— ASSOCUTHN'.] Wellington, Monday. Thk troubles on the British ship Cassius, which arrived from Liverpool last week, were advanced a stage to-day. In the Magistrate's Court four seamen, Win. Whiting, Chas. Ralph Wooley, ffm. Gladstone Scott, and John Audrade, wore charged with having disobeyed the lawful command of Captain, David MoPherson, in respect of clewing tip a topsail. The same men and George Allbright, first mate, were charged with broaching cargo, and Whiting was further charged wth having assaulted the captain. The police stated that the alleged broaching would require a good deal of investigation, and desired a remand until Friday. Mr. .'Johnston, who appeared to prosecute in the cases of alleged disobedience and assault, said if the more serious charge of broaching was sustained, the others would probably be withdrawn. The application of the. police was granted.
