Auckland, passed Cape Maria Van Diemen at 7.15 a.m. yesterday, and should-arrive early this morning. The steamer on discharge loads general cargo for London and west coast of England ports, and proceeds South to complete lier cargo. Messrs. Arthur H. Nathan are the local agents for the steamer, which is timed to ' leave the colony about June 14.

THE ALEXANDER CRAIG. / ,' ; ' The bargue ; Alexander Craig., Captain William Nagle, arrived from Newcastle yesterday morning with a cargo of coal and coke, and, being granted pratique, berthed at the Queen-street Wharf. The vessel, which arrives in port in her usual neat order, sailed ■ from Newcastle on. April 26,' ci.d. met with • moderate variable weather crossing the Tasman Sea. Made the New Zealand coast onThursday last, when strong southerly winds and thick, dirty weather set in, with heavy rain, lasting until Friday; thence strong south and southwest winds to arrival. The barque will commence discharging cargo this morning, and on completion will leave for one of the coast ports to lead timber lor Australia. THE ELEANOR. The cutter Eleanor will be floated off Mr. W. H. Brown's slip to-day. The cutter, during the time she has been up on the slip, has been stripped, retimbcred, recaulked, and completely renovated. A new cabin has been put into the vessel, and she is now practically as good a vessel as when she was launched some years since. A NEW AUXILIARY SCHOONER. Messrs. T. M. Lane and Sons, of Whangaro*, have built a smart-looking auxiliary schooner named the Kereru, which is intended for the West Coast trade. The vessel is built of firstclass ' kauri throughout, the timbers being exceedingly strong. She is fitted with two oil engines, one being of 35 horse-power and the other of 25 horse-power. Coming down the coast last Thursday night the Kereru fell in with the severe gale which prevailed, during which she proved herself an excellent sea boat, and the engines underwent a good test, everything working satisfactorily. THE KAIKOURA. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Kaikoura left London lor Auckland on Saturday last.
