AUCKLAND - GISBORNE RAILWAY.
A JIEETIXG or the council of the Auckland Railway-League was held yesterday to meet Mr. W. Gaudin, secretary of the Gisborne Railway League, who was instructed by his league to convey to the Auckland League certain resolutions passed at. Gisborne expressing a desire to cooperate with tha Auckland and sister leagues at Waihi. Kafikati, Bay of Plenty, and Opotiki. etc , .u order that the important work of the Auck land-Gisborne railway might be pushed on vigorously. After discussion of the matter, it was mo\ed by Mr. Tewsley, vice-president of the Auckland -League, and seconded by Mr. Leo Myers, of the council, "That a conference be held on May 31. at three p.m., of all the railway leagues concerned in the construction of the Auckland-Gisborne railway line, and that invitations bo sent out accordingly to the branch leagues, asking them to nominate* their delegates, and tint the Auckland members of Parliament be also asked to attend the meeting." A vote of thank's was passed to Mr. Gautlin for his presence and the in form tion if afforded to the Auckland League. {
