AUCKLAND RACING CLUB'S AUTUMN

MEETING.

Matters remain in a very quiet state in connection with the A.B.C. Autumn Meeting, but when the whole of the visiting division arrive on the scene at Ellerslie interest may be expected to liven up a bit.

Advices to hand from Wellington state that Ghoorka will not fulfil his engagement in the Easter Handicap at Ellerslie. Marguerite and th* two-year-old William I. (by Conqueror—Morcre) will be the Porirua stable's representatives at the A.R.C. meeting.

There is some- reason to believe that if a price could bo obtained about Strathavon for tho Easter Handicap the veteran son of Blairgowrie would be well backed. The pencillers, however, show no inclination to foster business.
