PRODUCE EXPORTS.
COMPARISONS WITH PREVIOUS YEAR. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington*., Monday. A leaflet has been issued by the Department of Agriculture, showing the volume and value of the exports of the principal products of the colony for the year ending March 31. These, and the comparison with the exports of the previous year in each case, are as follows: — Butter, 299,445cwt, value £1,445,153, a decrease of 43,408cwt and £71,003 in value. Cheese, 107,503ewt, £257,171; increase, 25,082cwt and £76,297. Beef, 155,602cwt, £18,866; decrease, 3531cwt and £10,538. Mutton, 774,211cwt, £1,098,417; decrease, 191,292cwt and £225,383. Lamb, 1,905,717 carcases, £1,151,919; increase, 11,356 carcases and £28,807. Wheat, 991,068 bushels, £143.281; increase, 439,269 bushels and £63,346. Oats, 932.010 bushels, £88,025; decrease, 1,315,332 bushels and £96,928. Potatoes, 270 tons, £2429; decrease, 3343 tons and £7293. Hemp, 28,544 tons, £691,760; increase. 335 tons; decrease in value, £39,043.
