(Received April 10, 1.15 a.m.) Sydney, April 9Thk secretary of the Proprietary mine reports that there lias been an iabuist of gas at the 400 ft level, supposed to have been caused by a fall in the vicinity of the fire, which is still .smouldering. One man was killed and another is believed to be lost. Private advices state that many men are badly affected with gas*, but no details are at present available.
