[VROII OUR OWN CORRESPONDENTS.] TE AWAMUTU. Tub usual monthly meeting of the Road Board was held on Saturday last. At the Board's last meeting Mr. Chapman, of Kihikihi. made application for and was granted permission to remove hid boundary fence some feet on to the road in order to cope with the noxious weeds, said to be growing on the road frontage. It was now reported that no noxious weeds were growing on tue roadside. It was decided to have a watertrough erected at Henderson's bridge on the Kitaikihi-Otorohanga Road. The retiring members by rotation are Messrs. I'otte, Bond, and Kay, who are. eligible for re-election next month. the annual picnic in connection with the Te Rahu public school took place on Fridav last. There was a good attendance of parents and scholars. The usual games were indulged in, and the children appeared to thoroughly enjoy themselves. A dance took place in the" schoolroom during the evening. The chairman of the School Committee, Mr. T. Fry, spoke of the good progress made by the. scholars under Miss Hamilton s care.
