NEW ZEALAND IN LONDON.

There is some idea (writes our London correspondent) that the attraction at Earl's Court Exhibition next year shall be "New Zoaland in London." The matter is in the hand-; of Mr. J. St. Clair, who was for many year-! a manager of tourist companies and 'how enterprises in New Zealand, and who ii at present the manager of the MoodieManner-. Opera Company in England, it is announced that Mr. St. Clair lias obtained from Mr. Crrmieux -Java!. manager of Karl's Court Exhibition, an option to hold

" Stvr Zealand in London " in May of next, year, the show to take place in the Empress Theatre and in the. grounds of Earl's Court. it is proposed to bring over a party of some 300 Maoris, who will give representations of native life, their dances, etc., and to erect in tin* grounds a reproduction of a Maori pa: the ground-- would be decorated to represent Kline of tho most noteworthy features of New Zealand's scenery, while, there would be exhibits of New Zealand industries —frozen meats, wocllen manufactures, ct'-. A London paper hopes that- the project, will be carried out. "ftii an admirable idea," says the writer. "There is 110 part of the British colonial Empire that lends itself to both picturesque and practical exhibition purposes more than the land of tho 'Long White Cloud.' There are alps and fiords, and geysers and ' terraces,' unclimbable mountains, and unfathomable 'sounds;' Maori pa*, and Maori dances and war songs, arid plenty other materials of tho picturesque order. In addition. New Zealand's products and manufactures are of a substantial and varied character that would command tho interest of practical men and women. It would be a splendid advertisement for New Zealand."
