ARRESTED FOR THEFT.

IS ("KULAK'S outfit in A PORTMANTEAU. [BY telegraph.—press association.] Napier, Saturday. A Tit it or passenger by the Victoria from Dunedin to Auckland named George Lee was arrested here last evening on a charge of having stolen jewellery, which was found in Lis possession. Examination of the prisoner's portmanteau disclosed a perfect burglar's outfit. lie was charged to-day with having housebreaking implements in his possession. The prisoner pleaded guilty, and was remanded for sentence. Lee recently completed a sentence of five years' imprisonment. in Dunedin for housebreaking and four months for escaping from custody. Tho jewellery and money found in his possession are supposed to be the proceeds of robberies in Christchurch and Wellington.
