Sydney, April 6. There is grave anxiety. as to the safety of the four-masted ship County Roxburgh,, considerably overdue from. Catdera. ■•": On March 12 last, the captain of the German barque Thelkla reported sighting "a fourmasted vessel ashore at King George Island, but failed to get near enough to identify her. Since then 'nothing' further has been heard of the matter, and it is now suggested that the vessel reported may be the County Roxburgh. ' '■ ' ;
The County. of Roxburgh is a steel four-; S masted ship of 2091 tons register, and sailed from Caldera, west coast of South America, on December 18, for Melbourne, for orders. Captain -Thorn, of the ship-* i Ben Dcarg, in an interview published in • ; the Newcastle Morning Herald on February 22, said that on his voyage from Pie- ; -'i agua he had encountered a terrific , storm between Marquesas Island 5 and the southern Archipelago, and that lie had been ira :."■j company with a ship of the County class, but did not know its name. In the report of the circumstances it'was suggested'that ; the vessel was very probably the County, ■ of Roxburgh. _ ;■■ ■-.."■■ ;.-•■- _.
