CHEVIOT SHOW.

* [BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Cheviot, Friday. The Cheviot show v.as held , to-day. The attendance was good, but the weather was bad. The Government was represented at the show by the Hon. T. Duncan, Minister for Lands, who is at present visiting the district. A good allround lot of farmers' sheep was shown, especially breeding ewes, the fat iambs and wethers ail being in healthy condition. Draught horses showed a distinct improvement on previous veins, most of those exhibited being an excellent stamp of farm horse. Owing to the absence of pens, very few cattle were entered. With the exception of potatoes, which bad not been affected by the blight, the show of roots was riot so good as in previous years, owing to the lateness of the season. The display of fruit, particularly apples, was a remarkably good one.
