To-night the ■ doors will open at seven o'clock to the general public, the management discontinuing i the usual early-door charges. OPERA HOUSE. : There was a good attendance at Fuller's j Entertainers at the Opera House- last night, I the programme being well received. Mr. Owen McAuliffe made his first appearance, and met- with decided' success as a comic singer. To-night there will be an entire change of programme, when the Volteens, aerial 'gymnasts, will appear for the first time. The- three Gibson Girls, will make their reappearance: THE OLYMIP.IA RINK. There was a good attendance-at the Olynipia Rink. Coburg-street, yesterday, and the skaters thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Tho rink will be opened all to-day, and this evening a half-mile handicap will be contested. On Monday a race for novices will ; be held. MRS. GENERAL MITE. At the marquee in Custom-street last , evening Mrs. General Mite, who is only 33in high, attracted much attention. Several other artists gave displays. A matinee performance will be- given this afternoon, ! and the show will be open again in the even- j ing, when Mrs. Mite and the other artists will again appear. I 1 HARVEST FESTIVAL SERVICE. j The members of the Devonnort Presby- [ terian Church held a harvest festival service in the church last night. There- was a good attendance. The service was ion- - ducted by the Rev. ho Bertram, M.A., who delivered an impressive address. The anthems, "Praise the Lord," "The Fruit < f Thy Works," and "Father of Mercies," were ably rendered by a strong choir, under the conductorship of Mr. •!. F. Bennett. The quartette. " Holy is the Seed Time." and a number of hymns, were rendered. The soloists were: Mrs. Sutherland, Misses M. B. Stewart, M. Cat'dno, M. Saunders, and Mr. G. A. Howie. Mr. Basil Buddie presided at the organ. A collection was taken up in aid oF" choir alterations. j ST. MARY'S SUNDAY-SCHOOL. There was a crowded attendance at St. Mary's Parish Hall last night, 011 the occasion of the annual prize-giving. The Rev. Canon Mac-Murray, who presented the prizes, referred to the kindness of the Bishop in taking the children's services, and to the* good work done by the school, as shown by the success of the scholars at. the examinations. , An excellent programme, confisting of glees, songs, and physical drill, ; was much enjoyed by the audience. j The lolanthe social reunion, held in connection with Mr. E. A. Williams' dancing classes, opened the season in ,St. George's Hall on Wednesday evening last. A large gathering attended, and a most enjoyable evening was spent.
