Harper, .of Auckland, received a, cablegram yesterday, stating that a rich body of ore had been struct in the 220 level of the Mount David mine, New South Wales. There are a few holders of Mount David shares in Auckland. NEW MOANATAIARI. There was an improvement in the price of shares in the New Mnanataiari Cold Mining Conipa.ny yesterday, and sales were made up to Is 10d. The advance is probably due to the belief in some quartets that the Waiotahi reef will be intersected in the Moanattiiari mine by the crosscut now being put in, provided the ore body keeps its present, course. This opinion is shared by the manager 4 of the New Moanataiari property, Mr. G. Clark. DREDGING. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] Duxeiun', Friday. Victoria (.March 22): Fair progress is being made with the extension of the »\'o. 4 level crosscut, and the country penetrated is still of a very favourable description for the existence of gold. Oil Wednesday we intersected a leader, varying from 3in to 6in in thickness, which, when taken down, showed a little mineral of a very favourable character, intermixed with silica, but the quartz on the whole is rather white. The country in the rise oil the Victoria reef is now very firm, but still of a. good description for gold. The reef formation, now about 18in in thickness, lias not so much mullock in it as when I last reported, and is becoming more compact as the rise ascends. The country in the stopes above the intermediate level in not quite so firm as formerly, but during the week, when breaking down the leader, colours of gold were seen.
