LIBERAL AND LABOUR FEDERATION.
FORMATION OF NEW BRANCHES.
At a meeting held in Ponsonby Hall on Tuesday evening for the purpose of formin- a branch of the Liberal and Labour Federation in Auckland West, about 25 intending members attended at the invitation of the convener (Mr. J. K. Kneen). who introduced the organiser, Mr. G. F. Gray. Those present decided to form themselves into a branch, and to apply to the central executive for a charter. The following officers were elected provisionally: President, Mr. Robert Darlow; vice-president, Mr. Arthur Rosser: secretary. Mr. John K. Kneen: treasurer, Mr. Percy Taylor. Mr. C. H. Poole. M.H.R., and 25 others have signed the requisition for a charter.
The Premier, who is president of the Liberal and Labour Federation, will officially visit tlie Grey Lynn branch, and members of the new Auckland West branch will attend at the Grey Lynn gathering to n.eet him. The Birkenhead and Rotorua branches are arranging social evenings in connection with the Premier's visit. The Liberal organiser {Mr. Gray) held a meeting on Tuesday evening at Waitoa. in the Franklin electorate, where a branch of the federation was formed with 27 foundation members.. The following were elected officers: President, Mr. Samuel Bellamy vice-president, Mr. C. O'D rise oil; secretary, Mr. L. D. Warren; committee, Messrs. F. Lusbr, F. Hurst- J. Shine, A. Marshall, Daniel Curt jr.. and D. Casey,. Mesdames Warren, Casey, and Bellamy.
