Forster's amendment, to the Address-in-Reply, expressing regret over the inconsistency of the Government on the Chinese labour question, has been negatived by 416 votes to 91. / The Address was finally adopted without a division, after debates on one or two questions, including the unemployed.
The President of the Board of Trade (Mr. Lloyd George) has promised'inquiry into the preservation of the coasts from the encroachment of the sea and into afforestation.
