CLOSER SETTLEMENT IN MARLBOROUGH.

Blenheim, Wednesday. The Government party, which is to inspect the Clarence Valley area of a-quarter of a million acres in Southern Marlborough, mostly Crown land, with a view to closer settlement, is to start early next month. This valley would be tapped by the South Island Trunk line.
