TALISMAN CONSOLIDATED, £13,673 FROM 3200 TONS. OUTPUT FOR 1905 YEAR, £129,088. TOTAL TO DATE, £446,875. During the 20 days ending December 23, 1905, the Talisman Consolidated Gold Mini- | ing Company, Limited, crashed and treated 3200 tons of ore for a return of bullion valued at £13,673 16s 9d. The output is an excellent one for the reduced period, and is only exceeded by the November return of £20,408 10s 3d, from 3800 tons, the result of a full month's operations. The cost per ton for December month was £1 10s sd, made tip as follows: —Mine development, 6s 3d ; mining, 9s 7d; milling, 12s sd; i general expenses, 2s 2d. For 1905 year bullion to the value of £129,088 was won from the mine, as against £84,826 for 1904, showing a gratifying increase for the year just closed of £44,262. Tito secretary of the Waiotahi Gold Mining Company received the following tele- ; gram from the mine manager yesterday j afternoon : — " Selected 2cwt of picked stune I from the leading stope above No. 5 level." The mine manager reports as follows: — During the holidays a number of repairs j were effected both in the mine and the old \ battery. In the mine the various roads i and flat sheets have been repaired, and the I main shaft has been thoroughly overhauled. I In the old battery the fourth new stamper j box has been put in. The cam shaft has also been overhauled, and several cams replaced. General work in the mine and batteries was resumed on Thursday last, and driving east at Nob. 4, 5, and 6 levels j has been recommenced. No change has | taken place in these faces since operations ceased for the holidays. The leading stope i above No. 5 level, from which the 2cwt of picked stone was selected this morning, is producing fair crushing dirt. Stuping above | No. 4 level has also been commenced, The i reef hero maintains its usual thickness, and is still producing a fair quantity of crush- [ ing dirt. The Alary Ann crosscut is now in a distance of 202 ft, leaving a distance I of about 60ft to drive to intersect the No. 5 reef.

Timbering up is in progress, and after this work is completed driving will, be commenced on the new lode. DREDGING. [BY telegraph.— ASSOCIATION'.] DUN'EIHN, Monday. During the week ended to-day, returns have been reported from several dredges, the total yield being 2050z ldwt, or an average of 290z. Additional return : —Alexandra Lead, 17oz 15dwt.
