There has been great loss of life and all the ambulances in the Harlem district have been summoned. ;

The. site of the accident seems to have been in the neighbourhood of Central Park. The newer part of the city is divided into 12 great 'avenues,' and' other smaller avenues running from Fourteenth-street to the end of the island- northward, and these are crossed at right angles by streets running from river to river. The trains that collided would be on an elevated track.
