[by telegraph.—press association.] Blenheim, Tuesday. The man Ostley, who, it is alleged, wets stabbed at Haveloek on Saturday by another sailor off the scow Rongoa, is speedily recovering. The wound is not so serious as at first thought. The accused has been remanded. In the Police Court a man named Ernest Nicholls, alias Powers, with a bad record, was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment for petty thefts from a hotel and house. CnP-iiiTCBUKCit, Tuesday. The cricket match, Dunediii High School v. Christ's College, was concluded to-day ,_ the College winning by 230 runs. The scores' are:--College, 210 and 188; Otago. High School, 93 and 71. It is understood that the decision, of the Cabinet in respect to the fcyir Christehurch suspended postal officials will bo definitely announced to-morrow or on Thursday. ft is stated that the annual report of the Canterbury Frozen Meat, Dairy, and Produce Exporting Company will recommend payment of a dividend on ordinary capitalof 4 per cent, for the past year. GisiiOßNE, Tuesday. Bernard William Pinch, who was found with his throat cut on Saturday, died in ■ the hospital this morning.
