WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN T]3MPERANCE .:;", UNION. Ox Wednesday afternoon the annual meeting of the Auckland Women's Christian Temperance Union was held in the Central Mission Hall, Mrs. Dewar presiding. ■ The secretary's annual report showed a year of much active work and progress. Reports from the following- departments 'of work were received:—Literature, Un fermented' Wine, Bible-in-schools, White Ribbon, and Home Meetings. The treasurer's report showed that while good amounts had bison; expended on departmental arid benevolent work, there was still a substantial balanoo to the credit of the union. The annual election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mrs. Dewar (re-elected); secretary, Miss Bagnall (oro tern.); treasurer, Mrs. Hughes (re-elected). A resolution of congratulation to Messrs. Geo. Fowlds and C. H. , Poole on their successes in the recent elections, and a request that thev use their influence in securing scientific temperance teaching in the public schools, was unanimously carried.
