PONSONBY REGATTA.

THE PROGRAMME. I'onsoney Regatta takes place in the harbour to Li afternoon, and everything gives promise of the aquatic carnival being as successful as any ' hitherto held by this popular'club. There are nine sailing, seven rowing, and two motor pOwer boat races 011 the • programme, besides a number of side shows. The committor have had considerable difficulty in obtaining a- suitable flagship, but Mr. C. Ranson, general manager of the Northern S.S. As these vessels' could not possibly hold all the people who would attend, it was arranged at a filial meeting of the committee, held last night, ■■ that owing to the circumstances a large tent be erected on Northcote Point for the convenience" of sightseers. • The Wellington will act as flagship, and is to be moored a short distance from Northcote, the other two steamers, being, anchored closer in towards Northcote Point.
