At a : meeting of the Waihi Cricket .Association, last night ; a letter was received from the Waiwetu CriekefcJClub, Wellington, asking if "a match could be arranged for New Year's Day at; Waihi, as they wore sending a team to tour this district during • the Christmas holidays. It was 'decided to reply that the association r would ,be very pleased to meet them on the day named. The Waihi Hack Racing Club wrote asking that the cup competition be not proceeded with on Saturday next, so as not to clash with their meeting, on that day. It was decided to comply with the request. . The secretary was requested to write ■to the ■- Borough Council and; ask ; permission to use title Recreation Ground. A letter was received from the Waifeino Association asking .that a team be sent there on Saturday next. It was decided , to accede to the request..
