Zealand Yacht Squadron ■ was held in the : club rooms. Queen-street, last, night, Commodore C. P..Murdoch presiding. A letter was received from the private, secretary to the Governor stating' that His' Excellency j would bo pleased to be present at, the offi- ' cial opening of the yachting season in '-the 1 harbour on Saturday afternoon. The comi luodore stated .that Messrs. ; Seagar Bros.' ! had kindly placed . their steam yacht, Rehutai, at the service of ; the; squadron to take His' Excellency out to view the proceedings. : It- was decided that all the yachts of the squadron should take up their positions off Queen-street -Wharf at half-past two p.m. as follows;— Sailing yachts: Ida (commodore), Thelma, Ariki, Rainbow, Ilex, Marateo, Moana, li&ngatira, Windward, Thistle, Huia, Daisy, •Janet, Wairere, Wairiki, Pandora, Tero, Waiwere,"Wave, Tarn me, Dottrell, Ethel. Power yachts: Rehutai, Matareka, 'Union, Waiotno, > Waitiri, i Enoho, Naomi IT., Hnia, Orkeguy,' Slim Jim, Scuford 1., Ngapuhi. Blue Bell, I'akeha. Boats of other clubs, are; to take tip their positions liehind the squadron boats. Each yacht will keep a distance of from three to four lengths astern of the preceding one, and by the ',' free use of shoots" endeavour to keep this distance apart. The sailing yachts will form the outer lino (that' farthest from the wharf). The power yachts will form the in- • ner line, (between sailing yachts and wharf). Yachts will fall into lino according to their numbers, in two divisions. , • At J a subsequent. meeting;: a numbe-i of alterations in the. rules of the squadron, in connection with the power boats belonging to the squadron, were submitted and passed.
