THE AGRICULTURAL SHOW.

COMPARISON OF ENTRIES.

THE COMPLETE PROGRAMME.

To-morrow and on Saturday . the people of the province of ■ Auckland generally will have the opportuaity ,of witnessing, at, Alexandra Park, what promises. to be the largest - and finest agricultural; and pastoral show ever held iii l Auckland, and, given fine weather, there is every.reason to;believe, there will be a record' attendance of the public from all parts, from city and country alike. Complete arrangements have been made for the conveyance, by rail and steamer, of excursionists from all oyer the province; the show itself gives every promise. of being the best exhibition of stock and produce, apart from quantity of exhibits, that the Agricultural • and ; Pastoral Association has ever known, and tho proI gramme of riding, driving, jumping, weightguessing, parades -of-'stock, : and • sheepshearing contests, etc., is undoubtedly ' the best yet arranged by the association. The very highest grades of stock in Auckland province will be on view, and the principal prize-takers at tho Waikato show are exhibiting their horses, cattle- and sheep, and altogether' tho annual, meeting of town and country should be such as to attract every one able to attend. Additional yards and pens have been 'erected at Alexandra Park, where a staff of workmen has been engaged for days past preparing for the show, and every possible arrangement for the comfort and interest of the public, has been made by the Show Committee and the energetic secretary (Mr. E. Hall). The entries in the various classes total well over 2000, as against 1346 in 1903 and 1600 last year, and the following . details afford somo interesting comparisons: —,

It will bo noticed there is a satisfactory increase in the totals in the horses, cattle, sheep and pig sections, but some of the classes are not as well filled as they might have been, and there is a regrettable falling off in the butter and bacon and ham entries. , 1
