At the annual meeting of the Wellington Amateur Operatic Society, the financial statement showed that the recent production of "Dorothy" cost £682. The , receipts totalled £728, and the actual net profits amounted to £47 Ms sd. Several accounts, ib vats stated, had been paid since the production, and the credit balance was said to liavo been reduced to £17 15s-. . A discussion arose on the question whether the society should 'continue operations in view of the number of professional companies which now visited Wellington. Tho feeling of the meeting was in favour of the society continuing, but tho committee was instructed to bring down a report on tho matter at the next meeting.
