LAND FOR SETTLEMENT.
INSPECTION OF WELL-KNOWN ESTATES. [BY TELEGRAM!. —own correspondent.] Wellington, Monday. The members of the Land Purchase Board returned to Wellington on Saturday morning from a. lour, of inspection of a number of estates in the Wellington district. The last- work they did before returning to town was the inspection of the estates on the. slopes of the Ptiketoi Range and Annedale-, Manawa, and Tirouniea. The last-named estate, which is the property of Mr. Holmes Warren, was the subject of a petition to Parliament last session asking that it should be acquired. It consists of cattle and sheep country.
