MOR MONISM IN CANADA.
Sir,—Under the übovo heading a cablegram from Ottawa, published in this morning's Herald, asserts • that "polygamy is spending, especially in the Alberta territory." Permit- me to remark that the late exhaustive inquiry of a committee, appointed by the United States Senate, failed to prove that a single polygamus marriage had been contracted under the authority of the Mormon Church since the year 1890. This fact must bo accepted as an indication of the value to be placed on the above informa-, tion. which, as is usual with similar statements concerning Mormonism, bears not the impress of any reliable authority. - 1 November 14.
