AGRICULTURAL SHOWS.

Oam arc, Saturday. Ax the annual show of tho North Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association the following were the winners of the championships:—Merino ram and ewe, Wm. Gardiner; Border Leicester rain and ewe, Little Bros.; English Leicester ram and ewe, Donald Grant; Lincoln ram and ewe, Land Company's' Mceraki Estate; Shropshire 1 Down ram and ewe, B. Seth Smith; Ayrshire bull, W. Cowan; Ayrshire cow, A. Gillies. In draught stock J. Reid's Agitator was champion horse, with Glenturet reserve champion; and Robert Jackson's Princess Fanny was champion mare, and McCauley Bros.' Herd Lassie reserve champion. _ Mr. J. Mitchell's Roan Duke was champion bull, and Mr. S. Rutherford's Princess champion cow. Waxcaxui, Saturday. Glorious weather was experienced for the people's day at the Wanganui Show, and there was a very large attendance of the public. Christc:iiurch, Saturday. At the Gourtenay Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Show at Kirweo about 2000 people were present, which is a record. The number of entries was larger,than in the previous year, and the quality of tho stock, : especially horses and sheep, was excellent. A. Gunn and G. Seaton divided the bulk of the prizes for Border Leicestors. D. Mulholland took nearly all tho.prizes in Shropshires. The display of fat sheep was specially good. W. F. Clinton was the largest prize-taker in wethers, and MeClelland Bros., J. Dysart, Page's trustees, and B. Reveley in fat lambs. Tho entry of draught horses was smaller than usual, but the quality was above tho average. H. E. Finchain's Jean was the champion marc, and A. Nelson's Prince the champion gelding. Tho show of pigs, poultry and dogs was small.
