A NEW ZEALANDER IN ENGLAND.

THE LANCASHIRE SHOW. [by TELEGRAPH.—OWN correspondent.] Christciiuech, Saturday. Mr. O3BOHNE Rennie, a young Ellesmere farmer, who is touring Great Britain, in a •letter to his father, dated August 18, from Cork," says:—"Since I last wrote I have been to the Lancashire Show at Liverpool, and there I saw. the best lot of draught horses one could wish to 'see, and I don't think they could be equalled in any show in the world. There was a class for the best team of 20 draught horses, and there were eight entries, making 160 horses, and to see these on parade around the ring was something to remember. Several of the railway companies had teams entered. There was one class 'in the show that took ray fancy. It was a class for butter-making, and there was keen competition, and great interest was also taken in it. It is a, Dig thing to run one of these classes, but it is one that shows who ctn make butter. I have seen quite a lot of the shows now the stock is always in splendid condition, and the quality is firstclass. People here get their stock up for shows and sales. I was over in Ireland, and saw the horse show, which was a great treat. There were some great hunters there. The jumps are very stiff. There are two sod walls to get over, 4-ft high and 4ft wide, and the horse has to jump on top and then on to the ground. There are several horses jumping at one time, and it is a grand sight to see them. They get great prices for their horses, and it is no wonder, for they are splendid animals. There are some buildings' in connection with the show which cost £80,000. A great part of it is covered in."
